I have uploaded an activity in the LMS but my learners can’t access it. Why?

There are 2 main reasons training activities aren’t visible to learners: if it hasn’t been assigned to the learner or if the activity isn’t active.

How to check if the training has been assigned:

Go to Activity Management and under the activity, click “Assign Training”.


Make sure the group that you want to take the training is set as a “learner”. If you want everyone in the LMS to have access to the training, set the root group as a learner.

Another reason your training isn’t available is because it is not set as active.

When you upload your course to the LMS, you need to add a checkmark in the course options to make it “Active”. If it is left “Inactive” your course will not appear for learners, even though the training has been assigned.

To mark it as “active” log into the LMS as an administrator and click the “Activity Management” tab.  This will display the list of courses currently in your LMS.  Find the “Edit” button under the applicable activity.  This will bring up the following screen…

 Click on the box to add in a checkmark.  Don’t forget to scroll down and click the “Save” button to save this change.   Now, if you log in as a learner, the course should appear for you.
