There are almost two thousand Learning Management System solutions available worldwide, and they range from open source products to aging database solutions that can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Udutu was designed to work with any LMS or LCMS that supports either of the SCORM standards. However we constantly encounter organizations that need a simple affordable solution for tracking and measuring their online learning and for managing access to their courses. Some organizations only need it temporarily, as in a pilot program, or perhaps until a long term decision is made about the purchase of an LMS/LCMS. Some training departments are actually trying to work around an already purchased system that is difficult to access or to use.

 

Udutu originally met this need with a series of web gadgets to add LMS functionality to other applications, such as Facebook, Sharepoint, or various web Portal packages. We still offer those solutions and can customize and brand them to suit.

 

We are currently working on a standalone version of these gadgets with some enhanced functionality as an option for our Guru members, so that they can quickly and easily establish their own LMS on our servers. This product is intended to provide management, tracking and reporting for online courses and users. It is a simple and easy to use interface that does all that many customers actually require of an LMS.
