The finished course can be deployed on our servers at no additional charge for as long as you want with a watermark. It can be accessed directly, or you can paste the link into a closed system, a web page, portal, LMS, or whatever you prefer.
Alternatively, the watermark can be removed and the course can be easily and simply exported into a highly portable SCORM compliant zip file that you can unzip onto any server, computer or CD you choose. We will remove the watermarks and host your course for you for a monthly fee based on the number of deployed screens you want to purchase. For example, a simple Health and safety course of 30 screens (about 15 minutes), would cost you nothing at all in software or server fees to deploy and test. You could runit as a pilot with a watermark for free, or we would host it for you for $30 per month. Or, you can remove the watermarks and then move it onto your own server for a onetime fee of $30
What would Udutu get from that? Well, we hope that first course will lead you to build many more online courses, and you'll see the value in hosting them with us. When you are looking for a system for your enterprise, we'll be happy to sell you your own server. We have many accounts who buy a fixed annual license for a given number of screens to use as they wish. It is cheaper and more effective than multiple desktop licenses for authoring software, plus server licences for publishing..
What if you want us to build a course for you? We can do that on an hourly rate or by calculating the approximate length of your course in minutes and multiplying by $400. So you can determine exactly what your course will cost you to create. For example, a ten minute course costs $4000 to create and a 30 minute course costs $12,000. You provide the subject matter expert, and we provide the instructional designers, multimedia experts, graphics, editing, template designs, etc. We can also provide a host of individual consulting and production services at hourly rates.
As a rule of thumb, you should calculate that a full days worth of Face to Face training will translate to about 40 minutes of direct online time, and approximately 2 hours of associated offline thinking, reading, or practising. So a days worth of F2F trainingwould cost approximately $16,000 to become an interactive online course.

A new product training course…30 screens including 6 interactive exercises and two quizzes, some video clips, and narrations. Takes 20 minutes for the learner to complete.

Example 2
A complex, adaptive simulation of a business process. 80 screens, Takes 50 minutes for the learner to complete.
- Option A - Built by you: cost nothing to build, $80 per month thereafter for us to host.
- Option B - Built by us: Costs $20,000 to build, $80 per month thereafter for us to host.
- Option C - Built by you and deployed on your own server: total cost for authoring tools is $80
Example 3
You have 15 online courses, 960 screens in total, 5,000 employees in 50 locations.
- Option A - You build the courses using our tools and we host them: $960 per month
- Option B - We build the courses and we host them: You spent approximately $128,000 to build all 15 courses, and they cost you $960 per month to deploy.
- Option C - You build them and then deploy them on your own servers. We’d guess you’ll spend around a year building 15 courses, so it will have cost you nothing to use the authoring tools, and $960 to export them to your server.
